“Starting Oct 1, 2012, the Embassy will no longer extend green passports per DFA Circular-516-OUA-2012 to comply with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards requiring all non-machine readable passports to be out of circulation by year 2015,” announced on Saturday Philippine Vice Consul Sheila Monedero, as per Michelle Fe Santiago of Arab Times.
I assume that this circular is not only applicable to OFW’s in Kuwait but generally to all Filipinos who are outside the country for this is in compliance to international standards.
So for those, OFW’s who have friends and relatives in another country you may also inform the same to visit and renew their green passports in their respective embassies.
However, before doing so, if you are holding green passport–act first to renew it and just remember the date: October 01, 2012 the embassy will no longer extend green passport. So you should act on or before September 30, 2012 and that is Sunday.
I hope we should keep in mind this very important information that has been disseminated. Failure to renew only means one thing “penalty”.
Pls.may i know how many days it takes upon renewed the green passport...
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Ms. Nuez. Actually in my experience it takes 45 days to renew because it will be processed in the Philippines. So it includes shipment time. It is also advisable to renew your passports either green or new to at least before six months from the date of expiration. Salamat po ulit.

If it is green passport; the Embassy will not extend after October 2012. It is better to renew and transfer the visa before you will travel.
ReplyDeleteThere will be no penalty at all for renewal of green passports as long as it is valid prior to renewal. The October deadline is only for green passports not to be extended.

2. Extension for you passpoert validity is another option but since green ito--hindi na rin puwede.

I am not sure about it, but if granted na pupuwedeng mag change status dito, in my opinion kailangan mo ng marriage certificate from NSO, duly attested by the DFA. But I recommend you should visit the embassy and ask this question, and if you don't mine kindly post the answer here. Para po sa benefit naman ng ibang reader. Maraming salamat po.

ReplyDeleteDapat mong e renew ang iyong passport bago ma renew ang iyong residency. For sure kung ma expire na ang iyong residency before marenew dahil expired nga ang iyong passport ay talagang may babayaran ka. Di ko lang alam kung magkano. Dapat bisitahin mo ang embassy.

Pangalawa di mo ba nakuha ang contact number ng binanngit mong pangalan o di kaya'y email address man lamang? Ang embassy ay may advisory na pag lampas na ng five months mula sa release date sa mga nirenew na mga passports ay maaring ma forfeit na ito at di mo na makuha. Maaring ang kaso mo ay ganun. Maaring bumalik pa rin ito dito sa Kuwait at na forfeit na. Sa akin ay mga assumption lamang maaring bumisita na lang kayo sa inyong regional passport office at mag apply ng panibagong passport.

Puwede rin po basta meron kayong dalang kontrata. Pero mas mainam na dito po kayo kumuha para di na po maabala ang inyong bakasyon.

Ok lang po yon. Pagkatapos ma stamp ang bago ninyong residency ipa renew nyo po agad ang inyong passport. Pagkatapos ma renew ang inyong passport ipa transfer naman ninyo ang iyong bagong residency sa bagong passport.

Hi Joan, staying outside Kuwait for more than six months is not possible, even if you had a residency or civil ID valid till 2015. If you are going outside Kuwait, shall we say in Philippines for more than six months; as a rule the ministry will can cancel your residency automatically. Meaning you cannot keep your residency valid in Kuwait if you go for vacation for more than six months.

ReplyDeleteKung kayo po ay willing pa mag continue sa work ninyo -- antayin nyo po na marenew ang visa ninyo dahil mas mabilis lang mag renew ng visa kaysa mag pa renew ng passport. Ngaun pag na re-new na ang inyong visa saka mo ngaun ipa re-new ang iyong passport. It takes mga 45 days to 60 days ang renewal ng passport bago makuha -- this is based upon my experience. Pag nakuha mo na ang bago mong passport, saka mo ngaun ipalipat sa kompanya mo ang iyong bago din na na-renew na visa (residency stamp) sa bago mong passport.
