Trade Walkthrough Series: Trade#3 $CNPF

Pera na sana naging bato pa!

This is the main story of this trade. I was already sitting around more than 5% already. But ended up losing the trade as a result. The thing is there's no sell signal yet at that level. And when the sell signal showed up on a daily time frame when the price closed during the EOD for two consecutive days---yet I'm not able to execute to sell.

It's too convenient to blame my day job, dahil napaka busy talaga those two days. But I will not do that. It's my responsibility as a trader to act on my signals.

Bottom line, I was not able to trade well in this trade. No doubt, my trading system works. As a trader, I was not able to act on my signals. The above picture is the result of the trade. Pathetic.

I was able to filter CNPF around August 2, that was Sunday and waited till my signal showed up on August 6.

As you can see in the above screenshot, I was able to enter on the same at EOD. Then then the trade went on my way as the price move up as you can see in the below screenshot.

In the below screenshot the sell signal should twice. In the first sell signal, I should have sold it but I was unable to do it.

The succeeding candle also closed below the ALMA line which is already a confirmation that its time to sell. But still I'm not able to do it. I could have salvage a 2.5 % gain.

As you can see as I was able to exit on August 19 when its too late. Glad that's it's still considered a small loss.

Lesson learned - is that when you trade, I should not be distracted. With my work naaaaa! This is part of the territory as a part time trader working as a full time as an OFW.

Trade Walkthrough Series: Trade#2 $BPI

I lost in this trade, but I traded well. This is the ultimate goal of the trader. "To Trade Well".

How could you trade well then, if you lost?

Well, to trade well is to trade by following your trading plan / strategy. You sink or swim with your trading plan. A good trading plan has a well-define entry and exit signals / parameters. The most important---the strategy, or the plan, or the trading system, or whatever you call it... it must have a risk management plan.

In this case, the CALMA trading strategy has a very clear entry, exit parameters or signal and risk management plan. I simply executed the buy and sell as the signals or parameters appear on the chart. In this case, it appeared where I have to take a loss. Although, it's a loss but it's not a big loss.

There are only five trading results:
1. Small win.
2. Big win.
3. Breakeven.
4. Small loss.
5. Big loss.

You can take the first 4 blindly and it will never hurt your portfolio. But avoid and hate number 5, because this will ruin your trading psychology. And if you avoided the big loss, you will become a profitable trader.

In my first trade, I traded RFM and I wrote about it in detailed the entry or buy signals or parameters, you may click this link to read that one: https://retechson.blogspot.com/2026/07/trade-walkthrough-series-trade1-rfm.html

In this trade walkthrough, I will be walking you through my exit execution.

One of the additional exit strategy of the CALMA is to choose a shorter time frame to exit, when the index is down trend or you are in a bear market, or when the index is down on that day. This is to reduce the amount of risk.

At the time I exited this trade, the PSEI had been showing 3 consecutive bearish candle---long bearish candle and so I adjusted my exit time frame from weekly to daily. The sell signal is once the price closes below alma line. In this case, the last three candles closed below the Alma line.

So why, I did not exit in the first candle?

I was looking for confirmation. Indeed, the second to the last candle did confirm that the price is below the Alma line. But why you did not sell Rey? Well, I give the stock a chance because it closed the same price as the first candle. But the last candle registered the real confirmation as it closes below the previous close. And so, I exited.

I don't care about the result. It could be gain or loss. The important thing is I followed the plan.

And so, I completed my second trade, 28 trades more to go! Of course the next step is to journal.

However, if you look at the above screenshot what did you notice?

I barely escaped. I was not able to enter my bid at the final bid and ask time. That's the time before 9:50 AM. I just got lucky that there were still remaining buyers who bid to buy at the closing price of PHP 103. So, I was able to exit. Otherwise pang apat na candle na below the Alma ang price.

So, huwag kalimutang mag journal. Above is the journal I entered in excel. And then below is the various graphics that show about our trading outcome so far.

On my previous post, I was excited about a new venture. Yes! about the carwash that was being offered to me to buy by the owner. Well, I did my own due diligence and it happened that I found some red flags that I will hinder me from trouble shooting this carwash business from losing to turn it around and be profitable again.

The problem is the that the owner had no financial statements to show to me. So, without me actually operating and taking over the business, then only I will come to know if the numbers the owner verbally told me will add up.

The second thing is that he has very high operating expense. Higher than my vulcanizing shop. He has higher rent, water bill and electricity bill. Although there's no payroll expense as it is vendo and DIY business model.

The third reason, why I back out is because of the strong presence of a competitor located just few meters away from the subject carwash.

So, this things I learned when you become an insider investor. You will be able to spot a good investment or business or a bad investment or business of others.

In my next trade walkthrough episode, we will talk about what is an insider investor

Stocks Screening - 8 July 2026

So, today I've filtered some stocks to trade from the PSE and we found six stocks that showed potential buy signals. As usual, I used the CALMA setup to screen and filter the stocks. This set-up is a combination of ALMA and CCI indicators. The time-frame used is weekly. This is a swing trade strategy.

To those who want to learn about this set-up you may watch the video playlist that I made in my YouTube channel.

Below is the recorded video of the stocks screening I did earlier today, 8 July 2026.

$RFM Nagkabuhusan before Ex-date kaya nauna na ako

In my previous post, I wrote about preparing to exit the trade on Wednesday, 8 July thinking it's the ex-date but actually it is the record date. So, let me correct myself, dapat sa 7 July ang plan to exit, however at EOD on Monday ay nagkabuhusan na at ang closing price ng $RFM on a daily time frame is 5.64 from 5.70.

So, no-choice kundi nag exit na din ako to avoid more damage sa maliit kong portfolio. Protect your capital at all times ika nga. Napaaga tuloy ang exit.

Muntik pa nga madisgrasya, if you look at the above screenshot, my first order was rejected because I'm late to click the sell button. The timestamp showed my order time is at exactly 14:50:00 grabe!! Sumakto talaga sa time na ang order na pwedeng pumasok is yong similar lang sa closing price which is 5.64.

Glad that there still buyers at 5.64 pesos, that's why I still got the chance to exit at the same price. Dahil on the following day, Tuesday the price plummeted to the lowest of that day at 5.57 pesos. Although, I did not lose but I will not be able to get the dividend. Sayang din yon.

So, till the next trade ulit.

My first Buy after Almost Two Years Hiatus on Stocks Trading

On June 15, I bought my first shares of stocks after two years na nahinto sa stocks trading. I did the same routine where I left off two years ago. Like filtering stocks using the strategy I'd like to use and CALMA. If you want to know more about this strategy click this playlist on my YouTube channel the guide on how to use this strategy.

So, this is the screen shot of the transaction. Just a small amount of shares just to start live trading once again. At nangangapa talaga ako. I need to rewatch those videos on how to enter at EOD to make sure you will be able to buy.

The buy signals to look for, before entering a stock position using this strategy are the following:

  1. Price should be above the alma line when you buy.
  2. The risk should be maximum 5 percent.
  3. Volume should be at least above average.
  4. CCI pointing upward and about to cross +100 level.
  5. Volume should be minimum 1 million.
This is how the chart look like the day I bought shares of this stock.

Luckily, the stock price moved up after I bought shares, but I'm very cautious about this trade because if you look at it, there's upcoming dividend. The ex-date will be this coming Wednesday 8 July.

So, I planned to exit this during that day at the opening price to get also dividend. Why I planned to exit on this day because usually a stock price plummets at the ex-date as many investors who entered just get dividend get out of the trade and look for another opportunities.

So, let's see on Wednesday, if I will be able to come out unscathed on this trade and hopefully come out gain. But the main objective is to trade well, by executing the plan associated with the strategy. Stay tuned. Update ko kayo sa resulta.
